As I was Stumbling along today, I came across a great website. As most people have cell phones, and we all like to customize them with our own ring tones, this site is fantastic! Tonzr provides completely free ring tones. You can have them sent to your phone directly, or you can download them to your computer, and upload them to the phone through a data cable or via bluetooth (if it is available on your computer/phone).
I spent a few minutes poking around, just to see what was available, and I was shocked by what I found. For example, I decided that I wanted “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, since it is one of the coolest songs ever. I did a quick search, and found that there were 774 results for Lynyrd Skynyrd! Of course, I ended up grabbing a few more from the band while I was at it. I ended up spending about 30 minutes searching around the site, looking for ring tones that I knew I wanted, and came away with a ton of new ring tones. I will certainly be going back to find ring tones anytime I need one. It is great having a different ring tone for each one of my friends…it lets me know who’s calling before even looking. But, that means a lot of different tones…might I need a new memory card?
I did download all the files to my computer, where they can be scanned for viruses, and then uploaded to my phone. I don’t like to give my phone number out online, as that can lead to quite a lot of telemarketing calls…and I can’t stand telemarketing calls! It says in the instructions that downloading to a computer is really only for use if the other methods do not work, but you don’t even have to try another method first. So, if you have a data cable, or can beam the file to your phone from your computer, I recommend not giving up your cell phone number.
Also, you can purchase the whole mp3 file of a song from this website. There is a link following each song to Amazon’s page, where you can buy the song for $.89. I suppose you could just search Amazon, and download the “sample clips”, as that is probably what Tonzr is doing anyway, but if you use Tonzr, it is much easier to find, and download.
Check it out, and let me know what you think, and if you find those ring tones you’ve been looking for!
